Thread Residency, 2017

Observational drawing from a small village in Senegal, Sinthian, where I stayed for a month as an artist in residence. Thread is run by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation. I walked around the village with my watercolours and pencils and drew from observation on the spot. I held a drawing workshop for local art teachers and exhibited my drawings at the residency at the end of my stay. I wrote poetry and music as well as drawing about a hundred drawings of life in the village.
